Student Evaluation Highlights
She has a very strong command of the subject material and at no point did I feel like I was getting anything less than a stellar education.
Dr. Jacob understands that different students use different methods in order to get a correct answer and doesn’t force us to use her preferred methods.
I like that Dr. Jacob posts the homework online and gives out study guides for tests so we can be prepared.
My instructor was very informative and kept us updated as to upcoming assignments and tools that would be helpful. I also feel my instructor was genuinely concerned about me as a student.
She does a great job with breaking down the material into manageable chunks so even the struggling students can understand.
Dr. Jacob is very involved and interactive with students. She knows exactly what she is teaching and knows it well enough to teach it 5 different ways!
I have been in 2 other music theory classes, and it never made sense till now. I have dyscalculia, but it doesn’t matter when Dr. Jacob teaches because she explains it so well, and is very interactive.
Dr. Jacob had helped me understand the course material in much more depth than my prior classes leading up to this!
The instructor provided recordings of our rehearsals that allowed us to reflect on our playing and improve for later rehearsals.
Dr. Jacob is always very quick to remind us of deadlines and due dates. She gives time during rehearsal to glance over our parts before jumping into a piece. Her conducting is clear and easy to follow.
[Dr. Jacob] made everything simple to understand and related to life.
[Dr. Jacob is] very good at making students answer their own questions
